What happens to a cell if anabolism or catabolism prevails during metabolism?

Dissimilation, or catabolism / energy metabolism, is the process of synthesizing ATP molecules by breaking down organic substances with the release of energy. Assimilation (anabolism / plastic metabolism / metabolism) is the reverse process: the synthesis of organic substances with the expenditure of energy ATP. In the body, these processes are in balance and are collectively called metabolism. If anabolism begins to prevail in the cell, then it will have an excess of organic substances – it will grow and increase. With another development of events – the predominance of catabolism – the cell will not have enough organic substances, which will lead to a decrease in the cell and death.
