What is the role of the people’s representative in the state?

Representation of the people is a common practice in modern states. The main task of the institution of people’s representatives is to transfer the will of the people to the rulers. That is why, in most cases, deputies are directly elected by the people. Thus, it becomes possible to decide who will represent the interests of ordinary people in the highest circles better than others. Ideally, MPs should make government more effective: help rulers pass laws that will help people live better.
